You can read all of the latest news from the Youth Center by reading our News Letter. Kids can access the message board set up especially for them and talk to other kids about whatever topics are of interest to them.

A little bit about our history:

In September of 1998, Parents And Youth United was formed. A group of parents were concerned about the high rate of suicide in Mountain Home and they also wanted to provide a safe, drug free environment for the youth of our town to interact and hang out with their friends.

In June of 1990, the Youth Center opened. Volunteers working for and with the Youth Center are not paid for the work they do. Money coming into the center is strictly by donation or by fund raising through events and a snack bard at the center. The Youth
Center was eventually closed.

On January 7, 2008, the Youth Center re-opened under new management. The center offers snacks that range in price from .05 to .50 with activities such as pool for .50 as well as other free activities. Books, games, computers, music, board games and more. 

What's up with us now:

Please check out our center for the hours we are open. We are always looking for
volunteers to help plan out and participate in activities and fund raisers. If you have a
special talent that you would like to share and teach the youth, we are interested in
meeting you. If you have ideas on how to make our youth center a better place to spend some times, we want to meet you.

We have a Teen Council and would like to see more of our communities teens participate in that. We encourage anyone who is interested to stop by and attend one of our Teen Council meetings, get to know our members and join them in giving ideas, planning events, taking care of preparing and making things happen.
